Bad End?

Kind of searched a bit for proper subs of this episode. As Kyon had said in his comments, Fairy Tail will be taking a break while it’s exam period. Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s will still be delivered regularly, thanks to finding new subs.

And here it is. The episode that concludes the small Crimson Devil arc. This episode is surprisingly filled with more info about the Crimson Dragon, and will seem to be an important factor in the coming battle against Yliaster in the WRGP.

Of course, this episode contains Jack’s new card, Scar-Red Nova Dragon.

Last time on 5D’s…

Jack ends up in a strange village, where he is invited by the Crimson Devil to its lair, in order to attain a stronger power than he currently possesses. Jack is enticed by the offer and heads to the shrine Bommer and his siblings created, where the Crimson Devil resides. It is revealed that Bommer was controlled by the Crimson Devil to create the shrine that will prepare the ritual for its revival.

Inside, Jack faces off with the Crimson Devil’s familiar. The familiar reveals that if Jack wins, he will obtain a great power, but if he loses, his body will become the container for the Crimson Devil, who is revealed to be to strongest Earthbound Immortal, Scar-Red Nova.

- Tunes his LV 3 Dark Resonator with his LV 5 Big Piece Golem to Synchro Summon his ace monster, Red Dragon Archfiend.
- Battle Phase: Attacks directly with Red Dragon Archfiend.
- Yomi Boat Watchman's effect activates. Whenever an opponent's monster attacks, it Special Summons a "Yomi" monster from the Graveyard.

Even though Jack successfully counterattacked, the Crimson Devil isn’t impressed. Jack must fight back with his life on the line. The Familiar sends out a powerful force that knocks Jack off the large pillar he’s standing on, almost causing him to drop into the seemingly-bottomless pit filled with monster snakes.

"Okay... this is new...!"

Jack manages to get back up the pillar, and seems unfazed. He challenges the Familiar once more.

This makes Bommer remember another important part of the legend. It seems the Crimson Dragon alone did not defeat Scar-Red Nova. It was through the aid of a legendary Signer, who controlled a “Burning Soul” and created a miracle.

With Burning Soul and the Crimson Dragon, Scar-Red Nova was defeated and sealed away.

Turn 9 - Familiar: 3200 LP
- Main Phase 1: Sets 1 card.
- End Phase.

Turn 10 - Jack: 800 LP
- Standby Phase: The Familiar activates a Trap Card, Battle Mania.
- Main Phase 1: Summons Synchro Gunner.
- Activates Synchro Gunner's effect. Red Dragon Archfiend is removed from play and 600 points of damage is dealt against the Familiar (Familiar: 2600).
- During the turn that effect was activated, Jack cannot conduct his Battle Phase.
- Activates a Trap Card, Nightmare Archfiends. Tributes Synchro Gunner and Special Summons three Nightmare Archfiend Tokens on the Familiar's side of the field.
- Yomi Ghoul's effect activates and destroys the Nightmare Archfiend Tokens.
- Each Nightmare Archfiend Token deals 800 damage to the Familiar, a total of 2400 damage (Familiar: 200 LP).

With Jack having dealt 3000 damage in one turn without attacking, the Crimson Devil’s Familiar stops fooling around. The Crimson Devil’s power strengthens.

- Main Phase 1: Removes from play his Yomi Ghoul, Yomi Boat Watchman and Yomi Frontier Guard from his Graveyard and Special Summons his Wicked King of Yomi - Mictlan Coatl!
- Battle Phase: Wicked King of Yomi - Mictlan Coatl attacks Jack directly.
- Jack springs up a Continuous Trap Card called Screen of Red. Monsters with 2000 ATK or more cannot attack.
- Main Phase 2: Activates Wicked King of Yomi - Mictlan Coatl's second effect and destroys Screen of Red, and deals 600 damage to Jack (Jack: 200 LP).
- Activates a Continuous Spell Card, Magical Martial Law and discards 3 Bewitched Butterfly cards to the Graveyard. Until his next Standby Phase, Jack cannot activate Spell Cards.
- End Phase.

Wicked King of Yomi - Mictlan Coatl: LV 10, 3800 ATK.

By this time, it was confirmed that the one controlling Max was indeed the Familiar, having seen the Bewitched Butterfly cards on his hand.

Suddenly, a huge force is felt by everyone. It seems Scar-Red Nova has been successfully revived!

"Ohnoes, tentacles!"

The shrine starts collapsing. Yusei, Bommer and Max are still trapped at the staircase. The Familiar seeks to use them as sacrifices for the revival. Jack tells him not to go ahead of himself as the Duel is far from being over. He will do everything in his power to prevent that from happening, through his soul!

"Ack! Fire! Get it off! Get it off!!"

Jack assumes the same pose as the legendary Signer that Bommer described. Jack reveals that Red Dragon Archfiend is the soul burning inside him. Jack draws with his Burning Soul.

Before Jack could go on with his turn, the roof of the shrine collapses, almost hitting Jack. Suddenly, the tablet of Quetzalcoatl glows and the Crimson Dragon appears to protect Jack!

Leaving a loli alone outside has never been so dangerous.

Yusei: "Only the head and wings?"

Crimson Dragon: "No, I took the claws and tail offscreen, lol."

Turn 12 - Jack: 200 LP
- Standby Phase: Red Dragon Archfiend returns to the field as part of Synchro Gunner's effect.
- Main Phase 1: Because a Synchro Monster exists in Jack's field, Create Resonator is Special Summoned to his field.
- Summons Attack Gainer.
- Double tunes his LV 3 Tuner Monster Create Resonator with his LV 1 Tuner Monster Attack Gainer with his LV 8 Red Dragon Archfiend to Special Summon his newest and strongest card, the LV 12 Scar-Red Nova Dragon!

Create Resonator: LV 3 Tuner, 800 ATK / 600 DEF.

Attack Gainer: LV 1 Tuner, 0 ATK / 0 DEF.

Scar-Red Nova Dragon: LV 12 Synchro, 3500 ATK / 3000 DEF.

Burning Soul has allowed Jack to create a miracle and summon a LV 12 Synchro Monster, and seal the Crimson Devil, Scar-Red Nova inside his soul, Red Dragon Archfiend, and combines with it to form Scar-Red Nova Dragon!

Continuing Jack's turn:
- Main Phase 1: Scar-Red Nova Dragon gains 500 ATK for each Tuner Monster in his Graveyard. He has 4, namely: Dark Resonator, Extra Veiler, Create Resonator and Attack Gainer. Scar-Red Nova Dragon's ATK is increased by 2000 (Scar-Red Nova Dragon: 5500 ATK).

Using Scar-Red Nova was indeed the solution to attain more power, and Jack did exactly that. He uses the combined form to wake a new power in him.

Continuing Jack's turn:
- Battle Phase: Scar-Red Nova Dragon attacks and destroys Wicked King of Yomi - Mictlan Coatl (Familiar: 0 LP).
- Jack triumphs over the Familiar and its master!

Familiar: "Aaaa--wait a minute. I'm made of fire. I can't die from something like this."

Familiar: "Oh... poopie..."

As soon as the Familiar was defeated, the whole temple collapses. Jack, and everyone else starts to fall… but they were saved by the Crimson Dragon.

After the whole fiasco, Jack and Yusei bid farewell to Bommer and his siblings. Max promises Jack that he will learn to trust his Deck like the way Jack did, and that one day, he will also become a King.

Jack and Yusei go off, back home. Yusei mentions that this time, the Crimson Dragon has appeared to aid Jack in his battle. With their newly-discovered powers… Clear Mind and Burning Soul, they head back to Neo Domino City and deal with Yliaster once and for all…

Jack: "Oh yeah? Let's ask the fans which THEY think is the cooler card!"

Episode comments

Well, it was kind of easy to figure out that Jack would switch to burn.

In any case, it appears that the Crimson Dragon’s identity is that of Quetzalcoatl, discussed in the previous episode.

Again, Yu-Gi-Oh! has treated us to a sort-of history repeating itself with the legendary Signer, Scar-Red Nova and Burning Soul. It is kind of weird that most people who want to change history always end up as the bad guys (Marik, Godwin, and even Yliaster just to name a few).

Burning Soul and Clear Mind. I wonder if only Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend will receive this kind of treatment like usual (ala Assault Mode and Majestic forms). Though there is still that dragon that looks like Power Tool Dragon, only minus the tools, in the OP. Though as of now, there has been no role for either Ruka or Rua in the WRGP arc.

Black-Winged Dragon... lolwut?

Speaking of the dragon… in the flashback in Bommer’s tale, now we see Black-Winged Dragon becoming the fifth dragon, with no signs of the one previously seen by Ruka in her vision. It could be plot inconsistency, or that the dragon in Ruka’s vision was lost during or after the fight with the first Earthbound Immortals, and was replaced by Black-Winged Dragon before or during the time of Scar-Red Nova.

With this, I guess we’ll be back to Neo Domino City next episode.

With Jack looking around for power, he encounters the Crimson Devil’s servant, who leads him to an underground ritual for his step to power. The ritual? Surprise, surprise! It’s a card game. But now we learn of the Crimson Devil’s true identity.

Last time on 5D’s…

Bommer sees a dream where Jack gets eaten up by his own power. Fearing for Jack’s well-being, he calls Yusei and Jack over to tell them about Jack’s new playing style. Jack sees this as irrelevant, and Bommer wants to test him in a Riding Duel.

Jack’s opponent is none other than Bommer’s younger brother, Max. Things become weird when Max’s eyes start taking on a flame-like glow. Max’s Deck also turns different, and almost wipes out Jack, if he hadn’t crashed off the course. Jack becomes stubborn and leaves them to find some answers on his own.

And so…

A quick recap of what happened in the last scenes of the last episode with Jack going off-course after taking a hit from his own monster, then leaving Yusei and Bommer behind.

Jack contemplates on what transpired last episode, and came to the conclusion that he was afraid of his power demolishing himself. In order to defeat something like that, he needs more power.

Soon, he reaches a small village, where an old man sitting by a fire mumbles about everything being the work of the Crimson Devil.

"A man standing in front of a bonfire in the middle of the day in this hot place. That doesn't seem very suspicious."

"I've been sitting in front of this bonfire all week and my nose hasn't shrunk even a bit..."

Before Jack could go deeper into the situation he’s in, a voice calls out to him.

During the taping of episode 112 of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, the camera caught a glimpse of what appears to be a shadow figure at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Jack follows the strange shadow creature around, only to return to the place he was before, in front of the old man by the bonfire. It seems the old man was the shadow figure. As Jack approaches him, the bonfire turns intense and becomes darker. The flames turn into the shape of what looks like a dragon.

Jack recognizes it as the Crimson Devil. The old man with a creepy voice and giggle acts as a translator for the flame, asking what Jack desires the most. Jack wants overwhelming power and the Crimson Devil promises to give him just that, but only if he goes to the shrine that Bommer made.

Back at the shrine’s area, Bommer and Yusei discuss what happened last night. Bommer reveals that Max’s Deck had changed in the Duel, something he did not anticipate. Max also has no memory of what happened during the Duel.

Yusei asks Bommer why Max was picked as Jack’s opponent. Bommer doesn’t even know the answer to that. Not even the purpose of the dream. Bommer starts acting weird and Yusei snaps him back to reality. Bommer suddenly realizes something… he was being used!

"It's not like a complete replica... right?"

Jack arrives at the shrine, where Max was sitting. Max tries apologizing to Jack, but he seems to be in a complete trance.

"Sorry? What if YOU crashed, huh? Doesn't feel good, does it?"

Jack heads up to the top of the shrine and demands power. The sky turns dark and he gets struck by lightning afterwards… and disappears.

Only Jack Atlas knows how to electrify the dance floor on his own!

Max is shocked. Bommer, Annie and Yusei head to the shrine and Max tells them what he saw. They all head up to the shrine’s top and sees an underground passage.

Bommer: "That's odd. I don't remember ever making a hole in the shrine structure."

"Daddy, is this a plot device?"

Bommer could not believe it. The shrine only has one level. He never made an underground passageway.

In the secret passage, Jack ventures into a large open room with a giant statue.

"I must be in Tomb Raider... but where is Lara Croft?"

The true form of the Crimson Devil’s servant appears in front of Jack.

"I grew arms and legs just so I can play a card game!"

The servant tells him that in order to meet the Crimson Devil, they must perform a contract ritual. The ritual is none other than a card game.

From the other side, Bommer, Yusei and Max head inside as well. At the same time, Jack agrees to the Duel. He wants power, and only if he beats the servant will he be able to meet the Crimson Devil and be awarded with power like none other.

As the Duel starts, Yusei calls out to Jack. Jack snaps out of another trance but it was too late, he was separated from the others.

Jack: "I told you guys, this is MY arc. MINE. Go away."

The Crimson Devil’s servant then blocks out the exit with an energy beam, which also hits Yusei afterwards.

"Take this beam that destroys walls but doesn't kill humans!"

"Ohnoes!"

Familiar: "Oh, don't be such a drama queen!"

Bommer: "Yusei, since you're dead, can I be the new mai--oh, false alarm."

Bommer tells Jack that he and Max were used to call Jack to the place where the Earthbound Immortals rest. It was the Crimson Devil’s power. The servant admits it. Bommer and Max were used to get Jack to the Nazca lines. If Jack loses the Duel, he will become the container for the Crimson Devil after its 10,000 years of slumber. Jack wanted power no matter what it took, and the Crimson Devil wanted that kind of person, which is why he was picked as its container. Yusei and the others will be the sacrifices.

Jack won’t allow anyone to take his body. He accepts the challenge and promises to take out the Familiar.

Featured Duel of the Week!

This is way cooler than having the non-human creature develop a Duel Disk-like object on their arm.

Turn 1 - Familiar: 4000 LP
- Main Phase 1: Summons Yomi Ghoul in Defense Position.
- Sets a card.

Featured Card of the Week. Yomi Ghoul: LV 1, 0 ATK / 0 DEF.

Turn 2 - Jack: 4000 LP
- Main Phase 1: Normal Summons Big Piece Golem with no tribute because the opponent has a monster and he doesn't.
- Battle Phase: Big Piece Golem attacks and destroys Yomi Ghoul.
- Yomi Ghoul's effect activates. When it is sent to the Graveyard, 800 damage is dealt to the opposing player (Jack: 3200 LP).
- Sets a card.

Jack notices the same pattern as before. The Familiar is not attacking, but instead deals damage even through defense, just like the Duel with Max. He now deducts that it is the power that was controlling Max yesterday.

Turn 3 - Familiar: 4000 LP
- Main Phase 1: Summons Yomi Boat Watchman.
- Yomi Ghoul's second effect activates. While in the Graveyard, all monsters the Familiar controls are destroyed.
- Yomi Boat Watchman is destroyed and its effect activates. Jack takes 800 damage (Jack: 2400 LP)
- Activates a Continuous Spell Card called Spirit Wave Shield. A monster that initiates a direct attack will be negated and is destroyed. Spirit Wave Shield is destroyed at the end of his 3rd turn.

Yomi Boat Watchman: LV 1, 0 ATK / 0 DEF.

Jack feels a bit threatened that the Deck in front of him was designed to counter his power Deck. Even though the field is completely open, the Continuous Spell Card blocks any attack.

It doesn’t matter anymore. Jack has already decided. He will battle through sheer power and nothing else.

Turn 4 - Jack: 2400 LP
- Main Phase 1: Summons Power Breaker.
- Battle Phase: Power Break attacks directly.
- Spirit Wave Shield activates and negates the battle, then destroys Power Breaker.
- Power Breaker's effect activates. When destroyed, it destroys an opponent's face-up Spell or Trap Card. Spirit Wave Shield is destroyed.
- The Familiar springs up a Trap Card, Yomi's Guidance. When there are two monsters on his Graveyard with "Yomi" on their name, he can Special Summon a "Yomi" monster from his Deck.
- Yomi Frontier Guard is Special Summoned to the Familiar's side of the field.
- Yomi Ghoul's effect activates again. Yomi Frontier Guard is destroyed.
- Yomi Frontier Guard's effect activates. When destroyed, it inflicts 800 damage to the opponent and ends the Battle Phase (Jack: 1600 LP).

Power Breaker: LV 4, 1900 ATK.

Yusei and Bommer fear of Jack’s state as the Duel continues. He is on the losing end, very uncharacteristic of Jack.

A huge snake-like flame can be seen from the empty space where Jack stands on. Bommer suddenly remembers an important thing… the Crimson Devil is an Earthbound Immortal, Scar-Red Nova!

"Woah! Even the King doesn't have something as big as that!"

It seems Scar-Red Nova was different from the other Earthbound Immortals. It fought the Crimson Dragon alone, and even to exhaustion, but in the end, Scar-Red Nova was defeated and sealed 5,000 years before the other Earthbound Immortals. The Familiar explains that not even the Dark Signers could control its mighty power.

It doesn't even look remotely similar to the other Earthbound Immortals.

Scar-Red Nova’s revival is drawing near, thanks to Jack losing his Life Points at a rapid rate. Suddenly, the ground trembles as a familiar sight can be seen from above-ground. The purple flames that once ravaged Satellite and the City has appeared again in the Nazca lines… the Dark Signer’s mark!

Episode comments

Since Scar-Red Nova Dragon appears in the new OP, I guess this isn’t much of a filler episode after all.

This is a pretty eerie episode. The thing with the old man, and the creepy voice that the Familiar has. Very uncharacteristic of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s to give me a slight shiver. It might just be me though.

The Dark Signer/Earthbound Immortal plot seems to be expanded with this. Though it’s a relief they haven’t forgotten about the Crimson Dragon yet.

Not much to say about this episode. The next one seems to be predictably interesting.

Scar-Red Nova appears… and it seems to take a liking to Jack. The Duel continues, and it seems Jack may be able to obtain his new card, Scar-Red Nova Dragon. The how and why will be revealed next episode, so I guess we’ll just have to tune in and see for ourselves.

Leloooouuuuuch~~ I'm hooooooome~~

It’s Fairy Tail time people! Everyone who likes good seiyuu will have a good while watching this episode, cause this week’s surprise entry is none else than … of course a surprise entry…Last week, Loki made a shocking revelation by telling Lucy he killed Karen with his own hands. Also, Natsu and Gray got severely injured by a pillow fight! And Mirajane was sexy as ever! A lot has happened last week… but hold your breath, cause this week is gonna be even more breathtaking!

After Loki repeats his statement from last week, we start a long flashback from what happened between Loki and Karen.

It all starts with Karen abusing her Celestial Spirits by using them for her own convenience. She thinks of them as nothing more but tools, she even used Aries as a shield from an attack. The owner of Blue Pegasus soon confronts her with the fact that Spirits are also living beings, making Karen even more pissed at her spirits. The poor spirit, Aries, is punished by the evil mage and has to stay in the human world for 3 days, which is something that will make spirits suffer. Obviously because they’re not from the human world.

waaaaaaw~ moment of the week

the carpet... the furry girl... the stick... the mistress... guess what's gonna happen now?

Aries quickly disappears before Karen gets her way, well… rather than disappearing, Aries was forced back because of Leo (Loki) appearing. He tells Karen she should learn to respect Spirits and blackmails her. He will stay in the human world until Karen gives up on being a Celestial mage. Since Karen can only summon 1 spirit she owns, she cannot go out and accept missions any longer.

Leo waits at an old church until Karen changes her mind. The first week passes and Loki is at his limit already, Karen tells him to return back to her side, but Loki refuses. He’s the strongest of Zodiacal signs and stands his ground. After a month, Karen returns once again. She can’t take any jobs and is getting desperate, but still she doesn’t get what she wants. Leo still demands her to free them and gets beaten by Karen as she loses her patience.

"This is part of the warranty, I want my money back! "

After 3 months, Leo has grown used to the human world and feels refreshed, unfortunately bad news soon arrives. Karen died while trying to call out her second spirit during a mission…

Aries really took her vengeance onto Karen's body huh? ...kinky

NAZE DAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?!

That’s the end of the flashback. Loki starts fading while telling Lucy it’s just what he deserves. He tells how he wasn’t able to forget about Karen ever since that day. He thanks Lucy for making him see a truly wonderful Celestial Mage and then…

Lucy gets angry. She doesn’t want to accept the sad fate Loki is facing. He didn’t kill Karen directly, nor did he want it to come that far. She start trying to open the Lion’s door, using all her magical power. Loki tries to stop her, but Lucy persists and states that she even wants to change the law that stops Loki from returning.

"wooow... I think I'm high..."

Fairy Tail, now with unexplainable, irrelevant and overpowered Yu-Gi-Oh! special effects *thumbs up*

After that statement, time stops and a mysterious giant appears in front of Lucy and Loki. The Spirit King himself has shown up.  The king speaks up and repeats the law. It’s forbidden to kill someone who possesses the key, it is irrelevant whether this was directly or indirectly. Loki wonders if the king showed up because Lucy blurted out she wanted to change the law.

Lucy doesn’t back down on her word though. She complains to the mustache man, telling him it was an unfortunate accident. Loki begs Lucy to stop, but that only makes Lucy angrier. She uses all her power to summon her complete spirit assembly. Loki and the Spirit King are impressed by Lucy resolve. He states that if his “old friend” is willing to go that far, the law must be wrong. Loki is pardoned and becomes Lucy’s spirit.

And so things end at the guild. Loki tells everyone he is actually a spirit. Natsu and Gray are surprised and wow… they really became comic relief only in the last few episodes.

Anyway, things end with Loki handing a ticket to a luxurious hotel. Erza joins them with a smile and Lucy says it’s one of the last moments she saw Erza smile like that…

Waaaw~ That was a fun episode. Lucy really showed off in the last couple of episodes. First against her father… then on stage… now in front of Loki. Way to go girl! The Spirit King was quite fun, something you don’t usually expect of a character voiced by Wakamoto Norio aka Charles Vi Code Geass. Anyway, it was all included in the fun Fairy Tail style as usual.

But eventhough Lucy’s epic moments are probably over for a while, one thing did catch my attention. The Spirit King addressed her as “Old Friend”. Could that imply something? Does he know Lucy from the past? Or something that looks like her? Did I suddenly find a connection between the Spirit King and Lucy Mother? Anyway, I guess the manga readers know a lot more about that. It could just be a complete random guess.

One thing’s for sure now, Loki’s arc is over and we’ll soon move to Erza’s chapter!

Jack has three arms?!

It appears we really have landed in filler land, only this time, it stars Jack Atlas and his path to find a new power.

A returning character, Bommer, believes that Jack will destroy himself with his own power. How? He is unsure, but the main solution to this problem is to help Jack find a new playing style.

This episode could hint us to Red Dragon Archfiend’s new form, Scar-Red Nova Dragon… or a completely different filler arc (yes, arc, not episode). Also, we see the Nazca lines once again… remnants of the past Dark Signer battle.

Last time on 5D’s…

Yusei was able to defeat Placido and his Machine Emperor Wisel and put him out of commission… for a while, that is. Jose and Lucciano reveal themselves as Yliaster soon afterwards. Jose and Lucciano demonstrate their power by quickly foiling Sherry and Mizoguchi’s attempts of revenge.

Jose then tells Yusei to continue playing in the WRGP if they want answers, as Yliaster will also be officially joining. As a bonus, he lets them all witness his Machine Emperor Grannel’s appearance.

And so…

We start in a dream sequence where Jack, riding his Wheel of Fortune is being chased by splitting earth… and then his own dragon covered in flames.

All that hot-bloodedness finally got on your dragon too, huh?

Soon, the flames also engulf Jack himself.

The dream sequence ends. Normally, this is the scene where Jack gets up from his bed, sweating… but…

Sleeping half-naked with your young boy and girl siblings? Just another day for Bommer.

It was Bommer who had the dream. Fearing that something bad is going to happen, he sends Yusei a message via e-mail.

During times of prophetic dreams, the ancient Inca would rely on the Internet for their cryptic messages. It is a mystery how they recharge their mystical laptops.

Then, we see Yusei and Jack riding through a barren wasteland… and it was no ordinary wasteland, but the site of the Nazca lines, where the Earthbound Immortals sleep.

Welcome back to Season 1, 2nd Half?

A flashback from 3 days ago. Jack is at Cafe La Geen as usual, drinking his favorite Blue-Eyes Mountain coffee. He reminisces their first WRGP battle with Team Unicorn, where his own strength was used against him by Andore. Then, what transpired last episode, where Yliaster revealed themselves, and finally, Yusei’s new power. He thinks he cannot win in his current condition.

If you think you've seen them before, you are absolutely right.

They're the couple that took the picture proving an imposter Jack Atlas was on the loose back in episode 84.

Crow suddenly comes in and breaks his solitude, also spilling his coffee. Crow complains that Jack’s debt in the cafe has now amounted to 36,000 just from drinking Blue-Eyes Mountain. Jack claims that he is drinking while thinking of a new strategy. Regarding a new way of battling, Yusei speaks up and says he received news about it.

Arguing about whose earrings look better?

The scene returns to the present, with Yusei and Jack reaching Bommer’s place. A shrine was placed there in order to pacify the Earthbound Immortals’ spirits.

It may not be as tall as the one from Godwin's mansion, but Bommer believes someday he'll be able to make it grow as big as that.

Bommer’s siblings come over to greet the visitors and were overjoyed to see the King, Jack Atlas. Jack says he’s not the King anymore and Bommer explains that his siblings have no memories of what happened during the time they were taken in by the Earthbound Immortals. Jack quickly takes back what he said and proudly presents himself as the King.

DISCO FEVER!

Bommer then explains what happened to him after the whole Earthbound Immortal fiasco. He traveled with his siblings to start a new life with them. But all he was doing was running away from his crimes. He made a mistake and he couldn’t forgive himself. He chose to go with the flow, instead of running away.

He went to Nazca and built a temple in order to seal the Earthbound Immortals completely, in case some new evil force tries to resurrect them.

Oh, the things people do when they're in a barren wasteland and they're bored out of their skulls.

But lately, there were strange occurences in the nearby village. Animals would die for no reason. It is rumored that something called a “Crimson Devil” (Guren no akuma).

A Fire-type Gastly? Actually, I used to scribble something exactly like this during high school on notebooks.

Bommer continues explaining that the Crimson Devil are spirits of people who have not yet left the realm of the living. They seem to be trying to resurrect something… the Earthbound Immortals! It was then only a few days afterwards that he saw Jack in his dreams, being engulfed in his own soul’s flames.

He is completely convinced that Jack will destroy himself with his own power. He backs up his statements by stating that his mind was once ruled by the darkness. Jack tells him that he has no other way of fighting than by raw force. Bommer then offers him a Riding Duel, to show him that he has nothing to be afraid of.

Later that day, Jack sits under the shrine, waiting for the preparations for his Duel to be set. Max approaches him and asks him if he could take a look at his Deck for advice.

"Oh, look. A replica of my Deck. How original."

Max had an almost exact replica of Jack’s Deck, a power Deck. He says that he was inspired by the King. Although he doesn’t win as much as Jack does. Jack returns Max’s cards and tells him that his Deck is fine the way it is. Max must believe in the path that he took.

The boy says that the King inspires him, and whenever he looks at the statue of Quetzalcoatl, he remembers Jack.

"So you're telling me I look like this?"

Then, Jack sees Bommer lighting up their Duel lane for their Riding Duel. The Duel lane gets lighted up completely soon afterwards, in the image of the whale’s geoglyph, like when Bommer became a Dark Signer and fought Crow.

Bommer: "What? It's cool."

Bommer then makes a startling revelation… that Max will be Jack’s opponent instead of him.

Beware the nice ones.

"Holy halibut, Batman!"

The Duel is called off. Everyone rushes to Jack’s aid. Jack gets on his Wheel of Fortune again and rides away, in search of new power.

Episode comments

A pretty weird episode. Although the King of the Underworld was defeated, it seems the Earthbound Immortals are still alive.

Bommer dreaming of someone being chased by a slow dragon… does this sound familiar?

Yusei’s purpose is probably to serve as Jack’s missing ‘people skills’. I can’t really see him by himself, venturing far into unknown regions without someone to control his hotblooded-ness.

I just really wonder how this connects to Yliaster and Neo Domino City, as before Yusei can go back to the main plot (he’s probably already bored halfway through the episode), he was stopped by Bommer and continues on with his prophetic nightmare.

Why did they even have to use the whale’s geoglyph as their Duel lane? I guess it’s because it’s cool? Why Max? Probably because he’s special… in what way? Who knows…

But what does this even concern someone who was influenced by the darkness before? If it did happen, it would have benefitted the evil spirits instead. Then again, I wouldn’t wanna see Jack sidelined yet again. Really, he does that pretty often.

Anyway, I had a lot to talk about while writing this, but when I took a break before I wrote the comments part, I completely forgot about all of them. This’ll be a lesson for me in the future.

Mr. Anderson... surprised to see me?

Another week has passed and so another Fairy Tail episode has been aired. This week we’re finally getting into business again, though ofcourse with Fairy Tail it’s not all that serious. Last time on Fairy Tail :

Nothing much happened last week, at least when we look at it the plot way. The only notable thing was a certain person brought up in the discussion between Gramps and Yaji. That person being Rob.

Other than that it was an episode filled with comic relief and we all had a good laugh didn’t we?

Opening : Ft. by Funkist

The episode starts with Team Lucy beating up some tugs, as expected weaklings are no match for Fairy Tail. After finishing the clean up and picking up the loots, Happy notices Loki. He tells the group he’s on a mission in the neighborhood. When Lucy wants to thank him for finding her keys, he immediately backs away. A tad bit later, Loki sighs while leaning against a tree. He picks up a flower, which starts withering as he stares at it.

This week's waaaaw moment starts right away!

They're talking to Loki... but who cares for that when Juvia's there?

So he's the cause of the Global Warming as well...?

Lucy proposes to go to a spa since their job has finished early. Erza agrees, much to the relief of all the others. At the spa we learn a few things. Spa water is blood colored and Erza likes to bath while still wearing her armor. When Lucy points out that it must feel unconfortable Erza decides to take it off. Yeah.. fanservice… but hey, at least the boys aren’t peeking on them, so much for being stereotypical.

From that day onwards... Lucy never showed any interest in men again...

Ultimate destruction...

Later on, the group has a comic relief pillow fight in which Lucy gets beat up and half of the hotel gets ruined. Because of that, Lucy decides to take a stroll around the area. Happy fools around with Lucy trying to imitate Plue’s voice tricking her into believing he can really talk. Lucy eventually finds out though…

Not much later, two stereotype flirt guys show up and try to take Lucy away. Eventually Loki appears and beats them up. He explains to Lucy that capturing those criminal mages was part of his mission. Lucy asks him to have a drink together to talk a bit. And so, they go some restaurant place with an owner whose forehead is big enough to compete with the Eiffel tower. Lucy asks him why he’s so upset with Celestial mages, but Loki doesn’t answer. When Lucy is about to leave because the chat isn’t going fluently, Loki suddenly hugs her saying he doesn’t have long to live anymore.

Lucy starts laughing after a while saying he uses that line that line to pick up girls. Lucy is heartbroken (or something along those lines) and slaps Loki for saying such a thing.  Lucy leaves immediately after that. Then Loki’s true motive comes up…

Back at the Fairy Tail HQ, Gray and Natsu continue arguing about the pillow fight from last night, which got them severely injured… When they ask Lucy who won the fight, she answers with an Erza-style glare. And yes, it has the same effect, which also surprises Mira and Elfman.

Happy notes that Lucy’s in a bad mood. At a short distance, Loki is also watching. Suddenly he feels strange and his hand fades away for a second.

Suddenly, some girls from town show up at the counter and ask Mira about Loki’s whereabouts. Mira moves the question to Lucy to get rid of them, but Lucy isn’t quite happy with the sudden attention and runs off.

"Cool... soon I'll be able to pass through walls!"

That's the fate of all extras dear...

I just loved her expression in this one...

Later that day, in the evening to be precise. Lucy shows up after taking a bath in a public bathing place. Loki who’s also present walks over and offers Lucy a flavored milk drink. They gaze at the starfilled sky and when Lucy sees a shooting star she wonders what happens to the star after it fell. Loki suddenly asks her if she can understand the sorrow of a star that can’t return to the heavens. Lucy thinks of it as another pickup line and Loki eventually proves her right… so it seems.

Back at Lucy’s place, she summons a new Celestial spirit called Crumudgeon, Crux for the friends. She asks him to look up something about the Celestial Wizard being together with Loki in the past. A bit later, Crux tells Lucy about a mage called Karen Lilica. She seems to be a famous Celestial Wizard who used to be a model, but suddenly died on one of her jobs as a member of the Blue Pegasus guild.

Lucy suddenly starts thinking about Loki’s phrases he proclaimed to be pickup lines. She starts wondering if they were real and finally realizes something. But then the door gets smashed open by Gray…

Now I do wonder how they noticed that...

They immediately start looking everywhere, but only Lucy seems to know where Loki really headed to. Lucy tells Loki what she realized just now. Karen was Loki’s owner and Loki’s real name is Leo, the Lion. One of the Zodiac spirits. She also explains that a spirit should normally return to the spirit world after its owner died. If it’s not able to return, the spirit will eventually die.

It’s been three years since Loki’s owner died, yet he’s still in the human world, but now his time has come. Lucy wants to help him out to find a way back to the spirit world, but Loki declines the offer. The reason why he can’t return is because he broke a fundamental rule between owner and spirit and now he’s been banished from the spirit world forever.

Thoughts :

Nice cliffhanger for a nice episode. I have to admit that I was tricked too the first time at least. The second pickup line was too obvious though. Still it was a surprise that Loki is actually a spirit, and quite a strong one too. Now I’m having this unstoppable feeling that he’ll soon be part of Lucy’s toy collection. I liked Crux btw, he was quite funny together with Happy.

About that Karen person, she is the one that showed up behind Loki in episode 29. I do wonder what has happened between the two of them, but that question will probably be answered next week.

We all know what this means... Villain X getting his ass kicked.

This was kinda late. This was conflicting with another personal thing that needed some time for inspiration to build up. Then there were times when I became pretty lazy.

The final episode of Yusei vs Placido. With Yusei finally performing an Accel Synchro Summon, the tides have completely turned in Yusei’s favor. Jose and Lucciano also reveal themselves to our heroes and tell them about their plans.

Last time on 5D’s…

Yusei is in a great pinch once again. Placido uses various tricks and destroys almost the entirety of the city. Yusei plays defensively and awaits the perfect moment to retrieve Stardust Dragon.

In the meantime, Aki was letting go of her accursed power and used her own natural strength to save Haruka from grave danger.

Afterwards, Yusei was able to return Stardust Dragon… and was finally able to perform an Accel Synchro Summon to let out a new power called Shooting Star Dragon!

Everyone gets their hopes rekindled with the bright light. Placido doesn’t seem bothered at all and continues his turn.

Duel status:
Yusei: 300 LP, 3 SPC
Placido: 1800 LP, 12 SPC (Max)

Continuing Placido's turn (Turn 10):
- Main Phase 1: Removes 10 Speed Counters (Placido: 2 SPC) in order to destroy Shooting Star Dragon.
- Yusei activates Shooting Star Dragon's effect and removes it from play until the End Phase and blocks an opponent's monster from attacking.
- End Phase: Shooting Star Dragon returns to Yusei's field.

Meanwhile, Lucciano exclaims that the Circuit is becoming more and more complete just because of Yusei and Placido’s Duel, but Jose says that they would need all of the Signers’ powers if they want to complete it.

- Main Phase 1: Activates Shooting Star Dragon's effect. Yusei will check the top 5 cards of his Deck and for every Tuner Monster included determines the number of times Shooting Star Dragon can attack this turn.
- Yusei's top 5 cards in his Deck are: Junk Synchro (+1 attack), Nitro Synchron (+1 attack), Debris Dragon (+1 attack), Effect Veiler (+1 attack) and Hyper Synchron (+1 attack) for an overall of 5 attacks.
- Battle Phase: Shooting Star Dragon attacks Machine Emperor Wisel (1st attack).
- Placido activates Skiel Carrier 5's effect. Once per turn, a battle will be negated.
- Shooting Star Dragon attacks again (2nd attack).
- Placido activates Wisel Guard 3's effect. Once per turn, it is not destroyed by battle.
- Shooting Star Dragon attacks Wisel Guard 3 and destroys it (3rd attack).
- Shooting Star Dragon attacks Wisel Attack 3 and destroys it (4th attack) and 1700 damage is dealt (Placido: 100 LP).

Placido crashes and gets torn in half. Before Yusei could provide any sympathy for his fallen opponent, Placido is salvaged by Lucciano and Jose, claiming that helping Placido would only hurt his pride.

Now he's doing his Yami Marik impression.

Yusei recognizes Lucciano as the one who Dueled Ruka and Rua. Lucciano takes Placido’s Deck after the latter stole his cards. Jack and Crow arrive as well and sees Lucciano and Jose.

Jose reveals their identities as the The Three Emperors of Yliaster. He also goes out of his way to tell them about Yliaster’s motive. Apparently, Yliaster is a group that has existed ever since ancient times, and have been controlling every major event in human history in order to lead the world to its destined future.

Sherry suddenly speaks up, asking them if her parents’ murder were done to guide history to its rightful path. She then appears and tries to squash Jose under her D-Wheel, which fails miserably as Jose seems to be made from the same robotic unit that Placido was. He grabs the D-Wheel with just one hand and flings it away.

Mizoguchi follows suit and gets his D-Wheel destroyed by a single punch from Jose. Lucciano uses Placido’s sword and engages in a swordfight with Mizoguchi.

"Screw the card games, we have swords!"

Jose continues storytelling. He claims that whenever humans follow a foolish path, Yliaster will come and set things right in order to change history back to the way it should be. The main reason for their appearance in this era was the discovery of Momentum, which greatly altered the future. They used Rudger Godwin in order to destroy Momentum, but even with the Zero Reverse incident, Momentum was not completely removed. Their plan B is now to wipe out the whole city.

Sherry comes rushing in again. But she gets completely swatted away by a single blow from Jose, which knocks her helmet away. In the process, she locks Jose’s arm in a modified armbar. The crazy woman claims to be contented even with just dismembering Jose’s arm… but his arm is robotic, so it didn’t work at all. She gets thrown away like a frisbee.

Yusei asks what they mean by wiping out the whole city. Jose tells him to come back to the WRGP. Every question will be answered there. As a bonus, Yliaster will also be joining in.

Soon afterwards, a meteor comes crashing down the earth again. Yusei and the others run away, but Jose stops the meteor with his bare android hand.

"You shall not pass!"

Jose collects the power from the meteor and it becomes a normal-sized children’s trading cards. He then shows off his ace monster: Machine Emperor Grannel.

Lucciano uses Placido’s sword to cut the dimension and they enter inside and escapes.

At the same time, the power all around the city returns.

Everyone hates powercuts.

Bruno takes his leave, still not recognized by Yusei and the others. Yusei asks him why he got his Accel Synchro card the same way that Yliaster obtained their Machine Emperor cards. Bruno claims he doesn’t know, but he says the entity inside the strange space may be the god of destiny that will let them see an alternate possibility for the future. Yusei must continue using his new power.

"Due to the massive destruction that the city underwent, we will be having filler episodes in the next few episodes."

Later, after everything was starting to be rebuilt, Team 5D’s along with Sherry and Mizoguchi group up but it seems every information about Yliaster vanished. Even all the Ghosts’ memory chips were missing. Even though it may be a trap, Yusei decides that entering the WRGP will be their only option in order to obtain answers.

Episode comments:

Well, I kept this review as short as I can. Yet another bizarre concept here. Yliaster has come from another era? At least, that’s what I understand from all that long talk. I couldn’t follow their conversation that much. But it seems they’re going to use the Circuit to ‘wipe the city’ from existence. I’m guessing this isn’t just a literal destruction of the city (since they could have easily done that), but probably its whole existence. So the Circuit is some kind of weapon of mass destruction that needs energy. Ironically, it seems to be powered by Duels, which are in turn powered by Momentum, which is what they want to erase.

Anyway, half of the episode was easy to predict. Placido losing to Yusei was already a given. But I guess we’ll see him back again when Yliaster enters the WRGP themselves, unlike what I thought.

Also, with the city being rebuilt and all highways are damaged… and with the WRGP temporarily cancelled… yep, filler time again.

Next episode preview:

We see Bommer again, back in the Inca tribe he lives with. It seems Jack will learn a new strategy other than busting a huge beatstick and maul everything to bits. It could also signal the coming of Jack’s Accel Synchro Monster, as Starstrike Blast seems to have a card called “Scar-Red Nova Dragon” or “Scarlet Nova Dragon” or whatever.

But I guess it’ll take more time before Jack gets his, like Yusei. I guess most of the coming episodes will be fillers.

Comic relief after lots and lots of action, it just had to happen one of these episodes right? Well, sit back and relax cause this week’s Fairy Tail was epic… in terms of comedy and slapstick.

Last time in Fairy Tail :

Lucy met her father and confronted him with her new resolve. We also found out that Lucy’s mum has passed away at a mysterious date. Equally mysterious was the disappearing of both Natsu’s and Gajeel’s dragons.

As for this week’s episode… nothing of the stuff you read there is important.

Opening : Ft. by Funkist

We start the episode at the National Council where Gramps is being interrogated by the members of the Council. However, he sleeps through most of the meeting much to the annoyance/amusement of some members.  The outcome of the meeting is quite surprising though (at least of Gramps that is), Fairy Tail was judged completely innocent and all the blame was put on Phantom.

After the meeting, Gramps talks with one of the Council members, Yaji. The guy argued with the Council for the sake of Fairy Tail and wants Fairy Ramen with 12 slices of meat in return. Then they start reminiscing about the past. Gramps, Yaji, the angry pink nurse from a few episodes ago and some guy named Rob formed a team back then.

Weirdly enough, in the picture we see 5 people, personally, I don’t know who’s the Rob which they’re talking about so feel free to enlighten me in the comment page.

Yaji warns Gramps that Fairy Tail has been overdoing things for a long time now and that they face enormous punishment if they keep on going. He tells Gramps it’s better to retire and rest.

Is that...Sebastian?

Meanwhile at the Fairy Tail guild Mira announces that everyone can take jobs again at a temporarily message board. Lucy asks Mira if she has seen Loki around, making Mira assume that Lucy has fallen for him… Which isn’t the case, Lucy just wants to thank him for finding back her keys. She received divine punishment for dropping them afterall.

After Gray and Natsu make some comebacks at Lucy, Erza and Laxus are quarreling over the inheritage of the guild. As Laxus states he doesn’t want any weaklings in the guild once he inherits it, Natsu busts in. Laxus explains the dragon boy that once he’ll get the ownership of Fairy Tail he will make it the Ultimate Guild. Once Laxus disappears, Lucy asks Mira what the nonsense was about. Mira explains to her that Laxus is the grandchild of Master Gramps.

Leaving things as they are, Erza proposes them to go on a quest together. The strongest team of Fairy Tail is finally official, though Lucy still doubted a bit at first, the others quickly cheered her up and convinced her.

At night Gramps who already has returned at the guild, is relaxing while drinking a beer. He wonders if the new building also means a new leader, but doubts about whom should be his successor. When Mira arrives telling him how team Erza destroyed half of the city in their quest, he quickly changes his mind and decides to stay as a leader.

Alzheimer... it strikes when you least expect it...

Tax increases... it strikes when you least expect it...

Blindness... it str-- ah well you get it by now.

The following day Lucy complains to Mira about her team messing up all the time. Mira tells Lucy that she might know a job where she doesn’t have to worry about destroying anything.

And so… the gang arrives in Omnibus city, the place where the Lullaby accident took place. Their new mission is to… perform! When they arrive at the place, a man appears informing them about the state of the theater. It seems that the actors have all left and that the theater is running out of money. And so their mission changing from performing into acting! And Erza is completely into it…

They all start practicing for the big play and Happy goes out to spread flyers and promote.

Not much later, the first fans arrive. Some oldies have come back for comic relief! And yes… a lot of comic punchlines follow and I’m not really gonna line them up because there’s too many…

All that’s left now is to preform a good play. Obviously… since it’s Fairy Tail, that’s where things go wrong…

It takes a good start with Lyra singing cutely, but when Erza enters the stage she freezes up completely. She skips her text and her nervous breakdown is complete when she summons her swords and sends them into the crowd. The plot gets scrambled up when Lucy appears tied up in ropes and it gets even worse when Gray appears out of the blue as well.

It’s hard to summarize all the weird events taking place, but due to a lot of circumstances, the stage gets busted up and destroyed… as usual.

Thoughts :

Well, only the first part of the episode contained some plot, so I’ll focus on that for this episode. The Council is obviously being manipulated my the cool guy Fernandes and his personal maid. Now about the Laxus being Gramps’ grandson, I wasn’t surprised much. I already suspected it from the episode where pink nurse had a flashback with Gramps having blonde hair. Now about the Rob guy, I have no idea which of the two guys in the picture is him. But since Gramps brought up Erza while mentioning him, it might have something to do with her.

So far for my theory of Juvia joining the main party in this episode. The title really had me there. But I had a good laugh with this one so I can forgive them this time. Next episode focuses on Loki and Lucy, I guess we’ll stick with them for a while. I am interested in Loki’s past afterall so you won’t hear me complain.

The beach was awesome. Summer is fun and all, but yesterday was the first time I actually went out to go swimming in years (there were 2 separate occasions where planned resort visits were cancelled), and my first time at the beach. Anyway, as for the episode…

As expected, this episode revolves around Yusei thinking what went wrong during his previous Accel Synchro attempt. Placido and Yusei continue their Duel, with Placido under a great advantage. From the looks of it, this is the second-to-last episode in their Duel.

Last time on 5D’s…

With Yusei seemingly composed and confident even with Machine Emperor Wisel is on the field thanks to the fact that he received a shiny new card, everything seemed to go smoothly for our heroes… until Placido started destroying stuff around the city.

Many structures were devastated by a thunderstorm and Yusei is reminded of the Zero Reverse incident. Due to this mess, Yusei’s requirement for Clear Mind is lost and he was unable to perform an Accel Synchro Summoning. Worse thing is, Machine Emperor Wisel has taken control of Stardust Dragon in this moment of confusion.

Now Yusei’s in a tight pinch again.

And so…

Yusei failed to perform an Accel Synchro. He feels frustrated as Placido gloats about obtaining Stardust Dragon’s ATK power. Meanwhile, Bruno explains that Yusei lost his Clear Mind, which is why the Accel Synchro failed.

Suddenly, Machine Emperor Wisel gives off a bright purple light. This light could be seen by everyone in the city, particularly those who have taken action against the sudden phenomena (or just important enough to be shown). Bruno gets sent off by a force… hopefully, he doesn’t lose his memories again due to this.

As the light continues to shine, the other Signers suddenly feel pain from their Dragon marks. They know Yusei’s fighting and is at the losing end of the struggle.

The Duel then continues.

Duel status:
Yusei: 3300 LP, 5 SPC
Placido: 1800 LP, 10 SPC

Continuing Placido's turn (Turn 6):
- Main Phase 1: Activates a Trap Card called Wise A3, which sends his Wisel Attack to the Graveyard and allows him to Special Summon a Wisel Attack 3 from his hand.
- Wisel Attack 3 resonates with the other Machine Emperor cards. Machine Emperor Wisel's ATK is now 5400.
- Battle Phase: Machine Emperor Wisel attacks Formula Synchron.
- Yusei activates a Trap Card, D2 Shield. It doubles a Defense Position monster's DEF. Formula Synchron's DEF is now 3000.
- Wisel destroys Formula Synchron, and due to Wisel Attack 3's effect, piercing damage is dealt (Yusei: 900 LP).
- Skiel Carrier 5's effect activates. Yusei receives 300 damage after a monster has been destroyed by battle (Yusei: 600 LP).
- D2 Shield's second effect activates. When the affected monster is destroyed, he draws 1 card.

As the turn continues, Placido mocks Yusei’s futile efforts against their power. He compares humans to bees. Bees dance in order to let their comrades know of the honey’s location. But it is not by choice that bees do it, but rather it is natural. Placido’s standard of comparison is due to humans being unable to break the cycle of fate, like bees who cannot stop dancing.

Turn 7 - Yusei: 600 LP, 7 SPC
- Main Phase 1: Removes 7 Speed Counters and draws an additional card.
- Summons Necro Linker in Defense Position.
- Sets 1 card.

Necro Linker: LV 2, 0 DEF.

Yusei has no choice but to play defensive until he finds a chance to bring back his Stardust Dragon.

Turn 8 - Placido: 1800 LP, 12 SPC (Max)
- Main Phase 1: Activates a Trap Card called Wise T3 and sends Wisel Top on his side of the field to the Graveyard and Special Summon a Wisel Top 3 from his hand.
- Wisel Top 3 resonates with the other Machine Emperor cards. Wisel's ATK is now 5500.
- Battle Phase: Wisel attacks Necro Linker.
- Yusei activates Scrap-Iron Scarecrow.
- Wisel Top 3's effect activates. Once per turn, a Trap or Spell card activation is negated and destroyed. Scrap-Iron Scarecrow is destroyed.
- Yusei activates a card effect from his hand. He sends Arbitrator of Mediation to the Graveyard in order to end the Battle Phase.

- Skiel Carrier 5's effect activates and Yusei takes 300 damage for the destroyed monster (Yusei: 300 LP).
- Rescue Warrior's second effect activates. When it is destroyed by battle, he regains control of a card he owns that is currently controlled by the opponent.
- Stardust Dragon returns to Yusei's field.
- Because of this, Machine Emperor Wisel's ATK drops to only 3000.
- Main Phase 2: Tributes Necro Linker and Special Summons a Tuner Monster from his Graveyard, Formula Synchron. However, a Synchro Summoning using the summoned monster cannot be conducted on the turn this effect is activated.
- Uses Formula Synchron's effect and draws a card.

Rescue Warrior: LV 4, 1600 ATK / 1700 DEF.

Yusei feels doubt even after he regained Formula Synchron and Stardust Dragon. He feels as if he will be unable to perform an Accel Synchro again, but he has no other choice. At the same time, Wisel glows and a tornado is formed.

Yet another natural disaster.

The tornado’s force could be felt by the other characters.

The hospital isn’t the safest place there as well. The windows get shattered and suddenly, Haruka’s cards fly off with the wind. As she tries to reach out for them, her tiny loli body gets caught up with the wind’s force and she gets blown away outside.

Cause...

...and effect.

Aki has no choice but to go and save the girl as the spineless men look on from the doorway. The wind blows again and Haruka gets blown away again. This time, Aki catches her hand, as she believes that relying on her cursed Psychic powers shouldn’t be her motivation, but the fact that Yusei is fighting somewhere around the city with all his might.

Luckily, this is Yu-Gi-Oh!, where little girls are safe from any harm.

It's mostly because 'tentacles + little girls = bad -Yu-Gi-Oh!'. So Aki is forced to do it on her own.

Aki manages to save the kid from sure demise and the guys inside commend her bravery. Good going, you guys.

Oh yes, and Bruno’s alive again.

Placido continues his speech about fate and how humans foolishly wanting power only brought about destruction upon themselves, as displayed by the Zero Reverse incident.

Turn 10 - Placido: 1800 LP, 12 SPC (Max)
- Main Phase 1: Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity's effect activates and starts to absorb Yusei's Stardust Dragon.

Yusei vows he will never let Stardust be taken away again. His Dragon mark reacts with his other friends, and they cheer on him. Yusei begins to accelerate with great speed and he enters a strange state again: the world of speed. He is then finally able to see the thing that only appears in the midst of speed. His tablet card.

You can also see this card when you're high, not just in the world of speed.

Continuing Placido's turn:
- Main Phase 1: Yusei achieves Clear Mind's requirement. He performs an Accel Synchro during his opponent's turn.
- Yusei tunes his LV 2 Synchro Tuner Monster, Formula Synchron with his Stardust Dragon to Accel Synchro Summon his newest card, Shooting Star Dragon!

Shooting Star Dragon: LV 10 Synchro, 3300 ATK / 2500 DEF.

Placido is shocked. Shooting Star Dragon breaks through the tornado and envelops the sky with a great light, repelling the darkness. Everyone feels this light, a gentle and kind light.

This thing makes Savior Star look like a prophet in comparison.

Jose is now interested about Yusei’s card.

Episode comments:

During the first moments of the episode, where this bright, purple light envelops Placido and Wisel… looked kinda pointless to me. Nothing much happened, and he didn’t do anything with it. Just some minor characters looking on. But I guess this was to distinguish the light emanating from Shooting Star Dragon at the end of the episode.

Well, I guess pretty much everything came out as many would have predicted.

I hope we also learn more about the Accel Synchro Monsters. As I remember back in episode 74, Bruno took the hit that was for his Accel Synchro Monster (if he didn’t, the Duel could have went on further) and said something weird. But now I wonder about Shooting Star Dragon’s real card summoning requirements. I’m sure it’ll be a regular Synchro Monster. Perhaps maybe the same as Majestic Star Dragon‘s (though, not using Majestic Dragon).

In any case, I liked those neat effects that Wisel keeps showing off and those trippy light shows. Pretty cool.

Next episode preview:

It seems it’ll be the end of Yusei vs Placido. It’s most likely the end for Wisel and Placido as Wisel was shown being continuously destroyed in the preview.

The second part of the preview is rather interesting as well. Sherry and Mizoguchi somehow tracked down Lucciano and Jose and will probably face each other in a Tag Duel. Since the setting is a bright area, I’m assuming next episode is when Jose’s tablet pops out and Lucciano and him go off to check, but Sherry and Mizoguchi will be on their tail.

The fighting ended and we get a view on top of the Phantom Gundam. Natsu asks Gajeel out about his dragon and how he was taught Dragon Slayer Magic. Gajeel is annoyed by Natsu, but tells him about his dragon called “Metalicana” and how it disappeared. Surprisingly or not, Natsu’s dragon, Igneel, disappeared on the exact same day as Gajeel’s dragon did. For those who wonder the exact date was  july 7th of the year 777 and yes that is a lot of sevens. To add some more symbolism, the dragons seem to have disappeared 7 years ago.

Meanwhile at the guild, the crowd has gathered around Lucy and Gramps. Not much later,  Levy and her team also meet up and have a nice word for Lucy, who’s touched by everyone’s feelings for her. Gramps tells her that’s because she’s part of the Fairy Tail family. Lucy bursts into tears and cries out her worries. Once again not much later, Gramps also starts crying rivers when he realizes the upper court might imprison him.

A timeskip follows. A week after the past events, everyone is busy rebuilding the guild and not much before that, the Rune Knights came over to interrogate them about the Guild war. Lucy summarizes all the events in a letter addressed to her mother and wonders if her father will use their fortune again to get her back. While Lucy makes up her resolve, we get a few comic relief scenes with Natsu, Gray, Erza and surprisingly… or not Juvia.

Eventually Loki shows up and hands over Lucy’s keys to team Erza. They try to convince Loki to hand over the keys himself, but he’s bad with Celestial mages and turns down the offer. When he walks away he gets an eerie feeling.

Some time later, Natsu, Gray and Erza visit Lucy’s place, much to their surprise, they can’t find Lucy anywhere (they do find a strange kind of underwear though). Suddenly Happy hits a box and a bunch of letters drops out of it. It seems that those are all the letters Lucy wrote to her mother, but they were never sent. Erza had discovered a note in the meantime saying “I will go home”, leaving them all jawdropping…

While Lucy is heading back to her homelands, we see a flashback from her past. She made an onigiri especially for her dad, but instead of enjoying the fact that his daughter thought about him, he prefers throwing it was and shouts at  chibi Lucy to leave him alone. Oh right, it was also her birthday… symbolism…

Back to the present. Lucy arrives and gets greeted wholeheartedly by her family’s staff. One of the maids then tells Lucy she’s called by her father. However Lucy dresses up first, a lady must sparkle in order to shine afterall.

A tad bit later Lucy enters her father’s study room. She appologizes for running away and regrets that. Her father then starts a rant about how she did well in returning and how he has planned everything out for her. A marriage was settled to assure the fortune of the family and Lucy has to give birth to a boy that will then inherit the fortune. But obviously, that is not why Lucy returned home for.

Especially in cup size...

She tells her father to back off from Fairy Tail and let her go her own way. To symbolize her resolve even more, Lucy rips apart the dress she used to wear as heir to the Heartfilia estate. She considers Fairy Tail as her family now and if he ever tries to assault them again, she’ll consider him as an enemy.

The most epic moment of the episode soon follows when Lucy confronts her father with the fact that her mother would’ve said to “Do what you want to do”… if she still was alive.

The episode ends with Lucy visiting her mother’s grave and Natsu-tachi arriving. As they leave, we get one last shot of her father seemingly touched by Lucy’s resemblance to her mother.

Thoughts :

Hehe… okay I hope I can now safely assume the arc is over. Especially after reading the next episode’s title. Anyway this was a great episode to end this chapter with. I loved how they made yet another awesome combination of epicness, comedy and drama. I didn’t expect Lucy’s mother to be passed away already, though that feeling got bigger after I saw Happy discovering the letter box.

Lucy’s resolve was shown as epic is it could I think. It reminded me of an old Naruto episode (don’t ask me which) where Sakura cut off her long hair to show her own resolve. But whether it is hair or a dress, the epic level doesn’t drop for me.

The next episode title promises good stuff. “Next Generation” and I’m assuming Juvia will soon join the main party now. I can’t get enough of her anyway so I’m cheering for it. I think we’ll tackle Erza’s past now, but whether that’ll be for next episode remains unknown for now.
