Hayate no Gotoku Chapter 249

Hayate has to make a very important decision this chapter.

Last time, after Isumi’s ‘Seven Divine Generations’ technique was defeated by Machina, she had no choice but to retreat, and teleported everyone away using her Secret Technique. The group ended up somewhere in the ocean, and after getting out, Isumi explained that the Honored Spirit and Athena were merging, and the only way to seperate them and save Athena was to either give the King’s Jewel to them or destroy it. Sakuya suggested giving the King’s Jewel and then taking it back, but Isumi said that it would be far too great a risk, as the world could be destroyed, and then proceeds to get ready to destroy the King’s Jewel instead.

On another note, next week’s chapter would mark 5 years of serialization, and the cover and several pages would be done in colour to commemerate the occation.

Hayate no Gotoku Chapter 248

Isumi is actually a... ghost!

Last time, as Isumi and the Skeletal Hand faced off, it appeared that Isumi was winning at first, but the skeletal hand had rebuffed her attempts and quickly recovered from each blow dealt. Some time into the fight, Isumi decides to use one of her strongest techniques, ‘Technique Type Eight Leaves Kamitsumaki – Seven Divine Generations’, summoning a gigantic dragon, which seemed to be decisively beat the skeletal hand down. However, Machina had come back, and using his Secret Technique, he annihlated the dragon, and Isumi had no other choice but to use the oppurtunity to retreat, seeing as one of her strongest techniques had been defeated.

Hayate no Gotoku Chapter 247

There will always be someone stronger than the strongest.

Last time, after Athena had suddenly changed her personality, a giant skeletal hand came out of nowhere and attacked Hayate. He was almost killed by it, until Isumi had appeared along with Sakuya, saving him. In the ensuing battle, Isumi seemed to have the upper hand at first, deflecting the skeletal hand’s attacks and seemingly dealing massive damage against it. However, despite the promising start, the skeletal hand quickly recovered from the beating and was seemingly unfazed by Isumi’s attacks. Athena, who was now possessed by an Honored Spirit, then stepped up, and asked Isumi if this was the first time she had met anyone with more power than her.

Hayate no Gotoku Chapter 246

This wasn't one of their better days.

Last time, Hayate confronted Athena and had a small discussion with her. Halfway through the chat, Hayate had mentioned how Sanzenin Nagi had saved him, and upon hearing this, Athena suddenly gained a severe headache, and her personality suddenly reverses, attacking Hayate with swords being fired at him from nowhere. Although Hayate had managed to evade the several waves of swords, a gigantic skeletal hand comes out from the hallway, and was more or less going to kill Hayate, until he was saved by the appearance of Isumi. And Sakuya.

 

Hayate no Gotoku Chapter 245

This would have worked on pretty much every other character that likes Hayate.

Last time, after Hayate recovered from his injuries, he set out in search for Athena. After some time of searching and a bit of Athena flashbacks, Hayate finally found Athena when she was off-guard, and asked her a very important, yet, pretty obvious question.

Hayate no Gotoku Chapter 244

A smile is worth a thousand views. At least I hope so.

Last time, Hayate faced off against Athena’s butler, Machina, and got knocked out cold, but not before protecting the Original Stone. (Or at least attempting to) He ends up in Athena’s mansion, being tended to by her, and later wakes up, but Athena fled the room before he caught sight of her. He found a ring on a nearby desk, and recognizes it as the one he gave Athena 10 years ago. Upon seeing it, he reinforced his resolve to find Athena, and tells himself that he needs to find her.
